buffalo

October 21, 2009

Figuring that this might be our only trip to South Dakota, we decided to drive to western edge of the state and visit the badlands and Black Hills, including Mount Rushmore.  The mountain sculpture is impressive, but disappointly small from the closest available viewpoint.  Our next stop was Custer State Park, where the buffalo are frighteningly massive from the closest available viewpoint … sharing the road with them!

Thank you for visiting South Dakota! It is always neat to get up close and personal with our wildlife!
