video blog week 15

December 11, 2009

We returned to the Kennedy Space Center this afternoon, where Logan rode the Shuttle Launch Experience three times.  Afterwards, we visited the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, six miles down the road (but included in the general admission ticket!).  There, we learned about the various space missions, rode the 3G simulator, and touched a Mars rock.  To bring it all together, we watched Apollo 13 after dinner.  It’s amazing what can be accomplished by a bunch of people with vision, money, and great math skills.  My hat is off to all the folks in the space program!  (Only five more shuttle launches left.  Next stop, the moon in 2014…)
