turtles

February 18, 2010

These Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles decided to sunbathe on “turtle beach” this afternoon and were still there at dusk, shown above. A volunteer from malamanahonu.org (care for the turtles) was on hand to talk about them, and keep humans at least six feet away.  They lay their eggs on the French Frigate Shoals, but since 1999 a few of them have started visiting this beach to eat the seaweed and bask in the sun.  You can see some labels and tracking devices on their shells.   The film starts with a close-up of Brutus.

You need to put a caption under the shot where you pan to the horizon: “this doesn’t suck”
